Sewing With Nancy
With a Little Help from Our Friends
No artist is an island. It’s unrealistic to expect an artist to create original work, package it, market it, track accounts, meet all compliance requirements as a business, return calls, answer emails, and fix dinner. No other field has an image of a lone creative force conquering the world that the visual arts have; it’s stupid. At Art of Possibility we work together with a team of subject-matter experts to do something truly meaningful. Showcasing the creative output that starts with a painting and ends with a team of contributors on two episodes of Sewing with Nancy gave us a chance for a fun time, which always gets my attention. A fun time with snacks well that’s a huge personal triumph.
Of course Nancy was a gracious host and runs an amazing program teaching millions of viewers how to sew for the past 20 years. When we met in 2009 she knew immediately she wanted to share our work with her audience because we are making art matter by making art that matters. When you watch the “Sew Elastics – Stretch Your Options” episodes we are featured in the Nancy’s Corner segments of that two-part series, you’ll see work from the Wise Tree and April Showers Bring Sunflowers fabric collections available through Free Spirit Fabrics. Stay tuned for upcoming fabric releases and news about our work as creators, not just of art, but of the world we all want to enjoy.

Wonderful show this week, Nancy. Your interview with Ketra Oberlander really opened my eyes (no pun intended) to the inspiring artwork of The Art of Possibility brand. I will certainly share this information with my graphic design students.
